There may be times when a cavity or area of tooth decay or damage has not reached the point where it requires a dental filling. If this is the case for your smile, our dentist, Dr. Daniel Baird, may suggest a visit to Alpine Meadows Family Dental for an appointment for a dental inlay in Lehi, Utah.
A dental inlay is similar to a filling and is usually used to address a problem in the ridges and grooves, or cusps on a molar, which are located in the center of the chewing surface. Those problems can include damage that cannot be addressed with a dental crown, damage that is severe enough that a filling could compromise the tooth or an issue that does not affect the edges of the tooth.

Procedure: Inlays (CAD/CAM)

If you are visiting our office for an inlay, our dentist will first administer anesthetic to ensure that you remain comfortable throughout your appointment. Then, he will remove the decayed or damaged tooth material and take an impression of the tooth. Using that impression your inlay will be created in our office while you wait using CEREC technology. When it is ready, the dentist will cement it in place restoring the health and function of your tooth. If you would like to meet with our team to see if a dental inlay could benefit your smile, call our office at 801-492-9207 and speak with a member of our team.
